Complete three easy steps to learn valuable money management skills and earn a special incentive:
1. Complete two online educational modules
"Pathway to Savings."
"Roads to Financial Literacy."
Achieve a score of 80% or higher.
2. Participate in a Bite of Reality event
A hands-on simulation hosted by CU SoCal, designed to give teens a glimpse into real-world financial scenarios.
3. Open a checking and savings account at your local branch
Visit CUSoCal.org/Branches. to locate your local branch and schedule an appointment.

1. Offer effective July 1, 2024, and is subject to change without notice. CU F.L.Y. launched to a focus group of schools within the Whittier Union High School District. Students from other high schools within CU SoCal’s field of Membership may be eligible. $100 cash incentive is valid only for high school students that open a CU SoCal Checking and Savings Account. $10 minimum opening deposit required to open CU SoCal Savings Account. Proof of completed educational modules and Bite of Reality must be presented when opening CU SoCal Checking and Savings Accounts. Accounts must be opened within 60 days of completing CU F.L.Y. requirements to qualify for the cash incentive. The cash bonus will be deposited into Member’s account in two payments: an initial $50 deposit upon opening the account, and a final $50 deposit 30 days after account opening. All new accounts will be verified by ChexSystems® and are subject to approval and Membership eligibility. Offer cannot be combined with other promotional offers.
