Starting February 1, 2023, existing and new Bill Pay users will need to enroll in CU SoCal’s free Online Banking to use Bill Pay. Simply follow the steps within Online or Mobile Banking to start using Bill Pay.

Your Cal Bear checks will continue to clear until August 1, 2023.

Direct deposits and automatic payments (such as your payroll, Social Security, and gym membership fees) will
continue without interruption until August 1, 2023. However, you will be required to update your credit union account numbers and routing number before that time. On or after February 1, 2023, please update these accounts using CU SoCal’s routing and transit number and your new Member number. You will receive your new CU SoCal Member number shortly before February 1, 2023.Update account information with Social Security by calling 1.800.772.1213, or by visiting www.ssa.gov. To make the update, you will need your Cal Bear account and routing number, as well as your new CU SoCal account and routing number. You will receive your new CU SoCal account numbers shortly before February 1. If you would like assistance, please let us know. We’re happy to help.

By January 15, 2023, existing credit card holders will receive a new CU SoCal Visa® credit card, which can be activated as early as 6 a.m. on February 1. Additional information will be mailed to Members who have a Cal Bear credit card.

Debit cards will be replaced with a CU SoCal Debit Card. A new CU SoCal Visa Debit Card will be mailed to you before February 1 to be activated for use starting at 6 a.m. on February 1. Provide your new card information to companies that automatically bill your card and online retailers where you’ve saved your information as early as February 1.

Due to regulatory requirements, you must re-enroll on or after February 1 to continue receiving eStatements. Select View Documents within Online or Mobile Banking to enroll in eStatements.
CU SoCal charges a paper statement fee of $2; however, this fee will be waived through May 31, 2023, for all Members. The fee will continue to be waived for Members 17 years of age and younger, or 64 years of age and better. Beginning June 1, 2023, the $2 fee may be applied to your account. CU SoCal charges a standard paper statement fee of $2; however, this fee will be waived through May 31, 2023. Beginning June 1, 2023, the standard $2 fee may be applied to your account. Please review the Schedule of Fees to learn how the fee may be waived.

There will be no interruption to your Account-to-Account and Account-to-Loan transfers that are made outside of Bill Pay. Transfers scheduled within Bill Pay will need to be re-established on or after February 1. Please see the “Bill Pay” section for additional details.

There will be no changes to loan types. However, some changes may be made to loan terms and added loan protection policies. Members impacted by these changes will be mailed additional information.

A prefix of seven (7) may be added to your existing Member number to make your new CU SoCal Member number. If your Membership number already has ten (10) digits and begins with a seven (7), your Membership number will remain the same.

Please enroll in CU SoCal’s free Online Banking as early as February 1, 2023.
Download CU SoCal’s Mobile Banking App for your Apple or Android device after you have enrolled in CU SoCal’s Online Banking.

Overdrafts from your savings to checking, and line of credit to checking will continue in the order you have designated.
If you have opted into Cal Bear’s Courtesy Pay program to authorize the credit union to pay, rather than return, non-sufficient fund transactions on your everyday debit card transactions, this service will automatically continue as CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. You will also gain CU SoCal Courtesy Pay on your CU SoCal savings accounts. See our Courtesy Pay brochure and Schedule of Fees for additional information. Fill out the Courtesy Pay Authorization form to sign up for Courtesy Pay. Once complete, bring the form to any CU SoCal branch.
