Credit Union of Southern California can help you safely dispose of your unwanted records and documents at its annual FREE Shred-A-Thon on Saturday, April 27, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held at CU SoCal’s Brea Branch, 2545 E. Imperial Hwy., Brea, CA 92821.

Shredding is a reliable way to safely and properly dispose of documents containing sensitive information that, if discarded improperly, could open the door to identity theft. CU SoCal has arranged for secure shredding services free of charge and all shredded materials will be recycled. Attendees are limited to three bags or boxes.

“Many people hold onto paperwork they no longer need because they don’t want to throw it in with the regular trash, or more appropriately, the regular recycling,” stated Melissa Manning, Community Education Manager at CU SoCal. “This event will provide those in the community with a chance to clear out their drawers and cabinets to de-clutter, help safeguard themselves against identity theft and protect the environment at the same time.”
