CREDIT UNION OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GIVES $13,000 BACK TO ITS COMMUNITY
Brea, CA—Fueled by the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” at the close of 2011, Credit Union of Southern California’s (CU SoCal) Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee donated $13,000 to several non-profit community organizations throughout Orange County and the San Gabriel Valley. Their donations on behalf of CU SoCal went to support various community programs and social services aimed at generating positive benefits in the areas of health, education, arts, poverty, and community improvement.
“We know that many in Orange County and the San Gabriel Valley continually face challenges and struggle with even basic necessities,” stated Fred Wright, CU SoCal Board Member. “For more than 50 years, CU SoCal has reached out to the community and contributed to charitable organizations who tackle these issues head on. We believe wholeheartedly in working together with organizations dedicated to making lasting changes in our community.”
In addition to the year-end monetary donations distributed by Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, CU SoCal gives back year-round through its Member Relations Committee and its employee-inspired charity, CU SoCal Helping Hands, which are entirely administered by the time, talents, and resources of CU SoCal employees.
“There’s a higher calling and a bigger picture,” stated Dave Gunderson, CU SoCal President/CEO. “Its about serving others and touching lives.”
